CELEBRATE THE FREEDOM TO READ
Other bloggers have already written posts about Banned Book Week, Sept. 20 – Oct., but I had to add my voice. My post will be short as it has been a busy week for me.
This link will take you to Banned Books Week. There are several links and updates there for bibliophiles.
As I travel later in the week I may have to find a banned book to take along to read. If a book was banned, I usually want to read it.
DO YOU HAVE A FAVORITE BANNED BOOK?

I suppose I always know in the back of my mind that idiots ban books. I simply don’t think about it, I love books so I can’t comprehend the stupidity, the sheer ignorance of banning books.
My favorite on the list….Light in the Atic!

It is good that we don’t really have to worry about books being banned in the U.S. today. Yet ii is a freedom we do not want to lose. I also hate to see books burned in protest. Thanks for sharing a favorite!

Jonel,
I can’t say that I have put much thought into banned books . . . I am interested, though, and plan to visit the link you provided.
Hope you are doing well, my friend. I am here and doing fine. The Lord sustains.
Blessings,
Cara

Haven’t checked out the link yet but what a stupid concept – we’re not living in Nazi Germany – who does this banning?

I am just grateful that the US does not ban books right now, but we cannot take it for granted. Thanks for the comments!

You are welcome – I know that in Canada as well as the States there are constant challenges to certain books by narrow minded groups – we must always be on guard to defend the freedoms that we have…

I don’t pay attention to banned book advocates so I don’t have a list… Catcher in the Rye still amazes me as a banned book. 😉
