I have neglected my Seasons but hope to improve each one. This is a start!

We had coffee on the veranda this morning and watched the hummingbirds fight over the feeders. Then the rain came – 1/2 inch! Beautiful!

Labor Day arrived with the smell of smoke from the fires north of us, but it was not as hot as it has been. Was that a hint of fall?

We got 2 inches of rain Thursday and Friday. Today it is back to over 100 degrees. Hurricane Irene is traveling up the east coast.

The summer has been hot and dry as the drought continues. Tropical Storm Don did not bring any rain. Lawns are turning brown and plants in pots must be watered often. We keep water in the bird baths for birds and squirrels. Toads come out at night and soak in the cat’s water dish. A woodpecker drank from the hummingbird feeder. A curlew rested in the shade of the oak tree in the front yard. The ground in the park is cracked and dry.
I hope your summer 2017 is full of love and happiness, Jo 🙂 I like that you have pages here for each season xx

Summer 2017 has been a good one so far. Thanks for taking time to visit Summer. I fear I have neglected Seasons horribly. You inspire me to update them.

Hi Jo. Always good to reflect back to a past time. COVID sure has made summer 2020 quite unique. Hope all is well.
