MABON AND THE AUTUMN EQINOX

Mabon is a harvest festival, the second of three, that encourages pagans to “reap what they sow,” both literally and figuratively. It is the time when night and day stand equal in duration; thus is it a time to express gratitude, complete projects and honor a moment of balance.

Summer Solstice

isabella

The temperature here in South Texas has been summer for some time.  This evening we will celebrate the Summer Solstice by opening a bottle of Texas Viognier 2011 from Pedernales Cellars and lighting a candle.  This piece of Talavera from Mexico hangs near our front door.  Her name is Isabella.

Cheers to life and sunlight!  It is good to be back.
