Art doesn’t get any better than Kent Ullburg. The Rockport Center for the Arts is in downtown Rockport, small but free and worth the visit if you are in Rockport, Diana.

It was a catchy title for a sculpture but not what I would have expected either. TGIF to you!

I LOVE it! Mermaid-approved! 🙂

So glad you approve. The artist should do a mermaid but I think he sticks to reality. This one is playful though.

We like it too. It is quite large and there is more art outside behind it.

What a fine sculpture. I’ve not been to the Rockport art center in ages. The mother of a friend once had some paintings hung there; she lived in Houston, but did some workshops over in Fulton. I didn’t even get down to see the flowers in the cemetery this year. I need to get my self in motion one of these days and head that direction.

Rockport is very supportive of local artists. The day we were there an artist from Houston was there to discuss her work on display as well as the work of local artists on display that was for sale too. I didn’t get to the cemetery either. We should remind each other!

Beautiful statue! I visited Rockport a couple of times years ago. It probably does look the same anymore. 🙂

Rockport is growing and has mostly recovered from Hurricane Harvey. The new Rockport Center for the Arts, built near the water is supposed to withstand hurricanes. Rockport is quite the art community and still a fishing community too.
