1. Such a difference from my day. The best people put out were jack-o’-lanterns. If I was a little kid today, I might even be afraid to go out. Some yards go to such lengths to be scary. But then, I’m really dating myself, aren’t I, Jo?

    • Well, I am right there with you! I used to put out cute little pumpkins, jack-o-lanterns and cats with witch hats on the front porch. I didn’t want to scare anyone! Last month I gathered it all and gave it to Goodwill. Not everyone in the neighborhood decorates but it is fun to see what people do. This one was just so simple and classy. I can imagine the owners having an adult Halloween party there. Unfortunately, I don’t know them as they as one street over.

  2. Well spotted, Jo Nell. Elegant mummies indeed! And uncomfortably life-like. The first scary movie I saw as a child was Bud Abbot and Lou Costello Meet the Mummies. It terrified me. I still can’t watch horro movies… Abbot and Costello scared me forever. Cheers Virginia

    • You are the only one who has commented on the wreath. It set the scene too. I don’t know what is made of but it just hung there like a black weed that came from the mummies’ tomb. I like your description. It was not a cutesy wreath. Thanks for sharing your observation.
