LOCATION:
I live on the Texas coast in a medium-sized town. Our home is on a bluff just a short block from the water. If a hurricane comes, we will roll down the shutters and ride it out!
EDUCATION:
Bachelor of Arts in English; post-graduate classes in creative writing (I considered going back to get my teaching certificate and did some substitute work at the high school level.)
WORK EXPERIENCE:
Most of my work experience has been in the administrative side of healthcare with positions as a claims processor, claims manager, contract specialist and provider relations representative. For the last four years I have worked part-time for a large non-profit during their campaign period from mid-July until mid-November.
WRITING:
It seems I have always tried to write and mostly wrote poetry and personal essays. The only publication came from a few articles in a small free monthly newspaper. For the last few years I have been more ambitious as I researched the life of a writer/adventurer for a biography. The biography will be published someday, I hope, but it will be written by someone else. I wish him success. Currently I am working on a novel (more of a novella) and have several chapters in draft, but I seem to be stuck as to how to explain how the Texas Ranger will solve the murder. I keep lighting candles for my muse.
So to keep me writing I have started this blog as I need deadlines and purpose for writing even if they are self-imposed.
Thanks for stopping by!

Enjoy your blog. Thanks for dropping by mine. 🙂
In order to solve the mystery in your novella , have the Texas Ranger light a candle to his Muse of Deduction. Have er show up as a actual charater in a magic realist style. It may not work out, but it should get the Surreal Unconsciousness going. I am a firm believer in Surreal Unconsciousness. I intend to spend as much time there as I can when I retire.

My Dearest Crone, thank you so much for thinking of us! Yes, we have gotten some rain, not nearly enough; however, it has kept the trees alive and the grass green. The stock tanks are still dry or very empty and the animals all have a vacant look in their eyes. Not the Texas I remember as a kid. We are off to New England on the 28th, so very excited about that adventure. We will be traveling to Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont and Upstate New York. Thank you again for thinking of us!

What drew me in was the photo and post about the dachshund who was reprieved from being put down. I have three dachshunds – and in the past I rescued two. I’ve always had a houseful of ’em, at one time as many as five. I’m crazy that way. So is my husband. 🙂

Its nice to meet you via Andrea’s blog! Do you go by Jo or Jo Nell?
We have something in common with blogging. I started nearly 5 years ago to try and foster a consistent writing practice and it has worked. I attribute improvement in writing to making myself write at least twice a month if not more for the blog. Its a great and fun taskmaster.
I hope you were spared the worst of hurricane Irma.
Cheers,
