  1. We are going through a cold snap, though not as cold as the rest of Canada, the mid-west and eastern USA. We’ve had snow, which again is unusual in this part of B.C. at this time of year. I’m actually hoping it snows for Christmas as that’s what we grew up with. Wishing you and yours a merry Christmas and all the best in the new year.

    • Well, I hope you get your snow for Christmas! It was the first time I had ever had snow for Christmas and have only seen it snow here a couple of times. We chilled champagne in the snow on Christmas Day. A white Christmas and prosperous 2017 to you!

  2. Surprising to see snow in Corpus Christi. Most people where we live have never seen snow as the temperature seldom falls below 18 C They still play “White Christmas” over the loudspeakers in the stores, though!

    • We were all surprised here too as it is often very warm and this year it is predicted to be almost 80 degrees. I hated “White Christmas” as a kid because I knew we were never going to have snow in South Texas. Happy holidays to you and yours whatever the weather! Thanks for stopping by.

  3. I’m going to allow that quote to warm me up all winter long. Here in New England, many celebrate the snow. I’m not one of them (having lived in the SF Bay area for so long). But, I’m not going to get sullen and refuse the gifts that wintertime brings here. One of those gifts is blossom-laden trees in the spring! Merry Christmas.

  4. Oh, I love that picture. I remember we had snow on our palm trees that year – it was magic. I remember in early 70’s we walked around in a foot of snow in Palacious one January. Snow is a wonder for us.
Wishing you miles of smiles, intriguing wanderings, and lots of wonder in the New Year!

    • Snow on palm trees is rather magical! Glad you had some magic that year. It has been a warm winter so far but in Texas one never knows when a blue norther will bring the cold down from the arctic. Let embrace whatever weather we have with courage!

  5. Such a beautiful photo. I didn’t realize that snow make it down to Corpus either. It rarely makes it to Houston or even where I live now in north Texas. I’m not a fan of winter, but it’s necessary and certainly going to happen. I hope you have a wonderful and productive New Year!
