THINGS I AM THANKFUL FOR:
family, friends and good neighbors
good health and having lived this long
love, books, shoes, basil, coffee, cats, wine, my laptop, make-up, music, no debt
second chances and forgiveness
new experiences
sleep and rest
my muse
simple beauty around me in the everyday flow of life and nature…the mystery in the night sky
freedom, choices and peace in the United States of America
hope for the future and the next generation.
I have more than I need, but sometimes…less than I want. HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
A great list!

My life if not perfect but I am thankful for the things that I do have. We have lost some family members this year so I am twice as grateful for every day. You have a lovely Thanksgiving!

Yes, life is good at my age. I have more of everything I need and cannot think of a thing more that I want for myself. If I had one wish, I would wish for a peaceful world. Have a good Thanksgiving. This was a thoughtful post. Thank you.

Yes, at my age too I have more of everything and am trying to get rid of stuff! Peace and love would be the best gift.

An awesome list JoNell, and I am thankful for the old friends, like you, that I have been able to reconnect with the last few years. We share so many great childhood and teenage memories. There was a time when I truly thought that everyone grew up in an atmosphere of love and caring like you and I did….as I aged I found that is not the case and that we are specially blessed.

Good idea for a post and a great list.
(Personally I could live happily without the make-up but apart from that…….)

I should have known that you would catch that make-up bit! As a mature person I need a little make-up – but not too much! I am so glad that you caught the humor!!!!!!

I love your list, it reminds me I need to make not only a list of what I am grateful and thankful but tell my husband I love and am thankful he is here.

Yes, sometimes we take those who love us for granted just because they are always there for us. It seems you have much to be grateful for with your Dearly Beloved. Have a very good Thanksgiving!

Great list. Your last line captures it all for most Americans. We have so much and want even more. I know I have to watch that.

Your list says it all. We all should stop and realize that we do have everything we need, and more, even if we do not have all that we want. Thank you for visiting my blog and liking my post.

Agreed. Nicely spoken on the page. 🙂 We’re a little behind over here with the holidays and the flu! (Yuk! Just passing it around.) Must remember our blessings…:)

Thank you so much for the kind comments! I hope you are feeling better – just what you need for the holidays. All OK here so far. I have been behind in reading blogs with Thanksgiving and then a guest for a week.

Excellent distinction you leave us with. We have what we need — perhaps not what we want — but then again, our wants (human wants) are insatiable. There never is enough to satisfy them! Makes it all the more imperative to distinguish between the two.

You are right, if we count the blessings we receive in our lives ….. will not be counted. So many favors, so that we become accustomed to, and keep looking for it seems we have not got ……. 🙂
